​Overall Position Description

  • Responsible for providing intensive behavioral intervention services to clients with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental delays in language, cognitive, adaptive behavior, social-emotional, self-care, fine motor, gross motor, and communication development.

  • The Behavior Technician is ultimately responsible for direct delivery of the behavioral services to the children and families, as well as accurate record keeping of case notes and excellent communication with the BCBA about the program and the progress of the behavior service plans.

  • The Behavior Technician maintains a weekly billable caseload of service hours as directed by the Clinical Director. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide direct therapy in individual and group sessions. 

  • Maintain client's program book/ online profile. 

  • Assists BCBA with implementing individualized goals and checklists. 

  • Implements individualized treatment plan as written and directed by the BCBA or Lead BCBA. 

  • Collects accurate data and graphs data as instructed. 

  • Maintains dignity and confidentiality for all clients. 

  • Maintains and protects the wellbeing of all clients. 

  • Completes and returns session notes and other paperwork on time and manages client PHI in accordance with HIPAA.

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to meet North Carolina’s driving requirements. 

  • Dependable means of transportation, as this position may require travel if providing services outside of the clinic location.

Required Education/ Experience​

  • An associate degree and educational coursework completed in the areas of marriage and family therapy, child development, special education, psychology, or related field, preferred. 

  • High School Degree Required

  • A minimum of one year’s experience working with children

  • RBT Certification Obtained through Behavior Analysis Certification Board OR able to complete the certification process:

    • 18 Years of Age​

    • High School Diploma

    • Pass Background Check

    • Complete 40-hour training

    • Complete Initial Competency Assessment

    • Take and Pass the RBT Board Exam

Expected Work Hours

  • Full Time Positions are needed.

    • Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, hours may fluctuate based on workload and client schedule, with the goal of 30-40 hours a week. 

  • Part-Time positions may be available on a limited basis.
