Position Overview

Behavior Technicians work closely with a team of BCBAs and clinical staff in a clinic setting, providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental delays.

Services are delivered in both 1:1 and small group settings and focus on skill development in areas including:

  •     Communication

  •     Social-emotional development

  •     Adaptive behavior

  •     Self-care

  •     Fine motor & gross motor skills

  •     Language and cognitive development


Behavior Technicians are responsible for the direct implementation of individualized treatment plans and accurate documentation of client progress.

Essential Responsibilities
  •     Provide direct ABA therapy in individual and group sessions

  •     Implement individualized treatment plans as written by the BCBA/BCaBA

  •     Collect and record accurate data during sessions

  •     Complete session notes and documentation in a timely manner

  •     Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA

  •     Assist with toileting and daily living skills as needed

  •     Communicate professionally with supervisors and team members

  •     Maintain a consistent weekly billable caseload as assigned

Physical Requirements

This is an active position requiring:
 

  •     Extended periods of standing and movement

  •     Running, jumping, floor play, and lifting

  •     Physical engagement with clients throughout sessions


Candidates must be physically able to safely perform these duties.

Required Qualifications

 

  •     High School Diploma (required)

  •     Minimum 1 year experience working with children (strongly preferred)

  •     Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  •     Must be 18 years of age

  •     Ability to pass a background check

  •     RBT Certification (through BACB) preferred OR willingness to complete certification process within 90 days of hire.

Schedule

Full-Time:

  •     Monday–Friday

  •     Between 7:45am–5:00pm

  •     30–40 hours per week based on client schedule


Part-Time (depending on current need):

  •     Primarily 1:00pm–5:00pm (after school hours)


Occasional schedule adjustments may occur based on client needs.

Position Overview
Bright Sparks Academy is seeking a passionate and dynamic Educational Facilitator to join our specialized educational team. This role functions similarly to a classroom teacher within a small private school embedded in a clinical setting, serving students with diverse learning, developmental, behavioral, and special education needs.

Educational Facilitators provide individualized and small-group instruction, adapt curriculum to meet student needs, collaborate closely with clinical and educational teams, and create a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally.

With a small student-to-staff ratio (approximately 8:1), this role offers the opportunity to deliver highly individualized instruction while working within a collaborative therapeutic school model.

Key Responsibilities

 

Instruction & Classroom Leadership

  • Deliver engaging whole-group, small-group, and individualized instruction aligned with curriculum, academic readiness, IEP/individualized goals, and student support needs

  • Plan, prepare, and implement daily lessons, learning materials, and classroom activities

  • Differentiate instruction and modify curriculum based on each student’s learning profile and support plan

  • Lead classroom routines including academics, centers/stations, teacher table instruction, enrichment, recess/gym, and transition activities

  • Foster a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment that supports student growth and engagement

  • Implement behavior support strategies and proactively manage challenging behaviors while maintaining classroom instruction

  • Support development of communication, social-emotional, adaptive, and functional skills within the school day


Student Support & Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with clinical staff, RBTs/technicians, related service providers, and families to support student success

  • Integrate educational instruction with therapeutic and behavioral goals where appropriate

  • Support students during transitions throughout the day and assist with after-school transition support as needed

  • Provide regular communication and updates to families regarding student progress

  • Participate in multidisciplinary collaboration to problem-solve student needs and support individualized programming


Data, Assessment & Documentation

  • Maintain daily student data related to academics, behavior, and progress monitoring

  • Assess student work and adjust instruction based on data and performance

  • Complete progress notes, classroom documentation, and written communication logs as required

  • Use data-informed decision making to support instructional planning

  • Maintain organization of classroom records, materials, and student documentation


Team Participation & Professional Expectations

  • Attend weekly meetings, trainings, staff development, and after-school professional responsibilities as required

  • Participate in curriculum training and ongoing professional development

  • Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, preparedness, and leadership in the classroom

  • Adhere to company policies, confidentiality standards, HIPAA requirements, and core values

  • Support a collaborative culture focused on quality care and educational excellence


Qualifications Required

  • Background in Special Education, Education, ABA Therapy, Child Development, or related field

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred)

  • Experience working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, behavioral needs, or diverse learning needs

  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Reliable transportation

  • Ability to work full-time school hours (approximately 7:45 AM–3:45 PM)

  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role, which may include standing, moving actively with students, assisting with transitions, lifting, running, and crisis response support as trained


Preferred

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, ABA, or related field

  • Classroom teaching experience, especially in special education or therapeutic school settings

  • Experience with individualized instruction and data collection

    Monday–Friday
    Typical hours: 7:45 AM – 3:45 PM
    Includes planning time, instructional hours, meetings, and student transition support
    School-year schedule with holiday breaks (optional clinic hours may be available during school breaks)
